Moving In

Well, my mom and dad are finally getting to move into their log home. They are moving in this weekend. One of my cousins, Justin, drove out to Missouri from Ga. to help load the rental truck and move them in. They started on Friday, so hopefully they are close to getting it all moved to Salem. They will be without internet access for awhile, so I wanted to put a post up for them to keep everyone up to date. They may be able to post whenever they visit my grandparents, that just live about 5-10 minutes down the road from their new house. Anxious to see it finished when we visit for Thanksgiving.

Our balcony is finished. Now we have a balcony seat to watch our new High Definition widescreen bug zapper right across from there on the hillside. There's even enough room for a small cooler for the beer.

Another view.

A good friend of mine who lives in Omaha and his wife gave Carol this hanging light for the dining room. It's circa early 1950's and we had to get it rewired and cleaned up but it was still cheaper than buying a new one and looks a lot better than any of the others that we saw that we could afford. Thanks Terry & Joann.

Another view.

All of the appliances have been hooked up and ready to go. The cook stove is the only thing that uses gas (propane), everything else uses electric or firewood. Oh, yeah all of the toe kicks haven't been put on yet but other than that the kitchen is all done and ready to use.

The fridge is stainless steel but it still has the blue plastic protection on it and some of the instructions still stuck to the doors.

For those of you in RioLinda this is the dishwasher.

I had to put a shelf on the wall above the sink for Carol, this room is done.

All that's left to do here is to hang the shower curtains and this one will be complete.

The only thing to do now is put on the cover plate for the switch and plug and the shower doors.

New email notification service

I've changed the notification service for my mom and dad, that sends out emails when they update their site. If you signed up before, there is nothing for you to do. You will start receiving emails from 'Feedblitz'. You may want to make sure you set your email to allow messages from Feedblitz. One way to do that is by adding feedblitz@mail.feedblitz.com to your contacts list. If you don't start receiving notification emails, check your spam or junk mail folders. If the emails are in there, you will need to unmark the feedblitz emails as junk or tell your email that it is not spam. This service seems to work pretty well. I've been using it on my blog, Pardon The Interruption, for a week or so now. When my parents update their blog, you should get an email the next day letting you know.

I'm glad that it looks like my mom and dad's new home will be done here soon. The pictures of it look great and we can't wait to see it at Thanksgiving!
