Just 3 pictures with this post. Not much has been done, visually anyway, due to the Christmas holidays but one of the beams has been put up (see it at the top of the window) and another one is poised and ready to go up.

The same as the previous one except from the inside.

The one in the window will go up with this one. I think the progress will go a little faster after the first of Jan. (I hope). In 27 more days I'll have plenty of free time to go there and take more pictures and even help do some of the work, properly supervised of course.

Some more of the beams. I told Carol not to have that last marguerita before she took this picture. You can tell when you enlarge it that its kinda fuzzy. Also I shouldn't have had that last Gin & Tonic myself, I see that I put the pictures in in reverse order so you all should start at the 6th picture of this post and go up.

Looking out the diningroom door to the back porch and what will be the back yard.

No change in the garage yet.

Still a mess inside and water on the floor again.

Half of the back porch floor has been done but that is about the extent of the work that can be seen.

Only 6 pictures this time. Not much that you can see has change. The second floor beams have been sanded down and ready to install. More of the work the last week or 2 has been behind the scenes but it is getting done.

There are 11 pictures in this group and you will see a couple changes, they have started on the front & back porch.

Just the standard front view at a slight angle.

Not much change here except for the front porch floor. Look at how much different the angle of the sun makes the logs look. The ones in the front look flat and the ones on the side look round and well defined but they are all the same shape. Cool! So if you see any pictures of me in any of these postings I'm not really overweight its just the angle of the sun that causes that illusion.

A little bit of a change here, they still haven't finished the last row of logs tho.

This one hasn't changed much from the last 2 groups of pictures but u can see a small corner of the front porch floor.

Eventually this place will look better.

We now have a front porch floor with a roof to follow.

For those of you in "Bellevue" this is the left side of the front porch floor.

The beginning of the screened in back porch.

Carol and Chuck Yeager talking about where to put the porch steps, on the right or left? Where do you think it will be? Also there will be a walkway from the porch to a door in the garage right behind where Carol is. Should it be concrete or patio blocks?

The roof trusses for the garage.

Four pictures, Carol had to take them this time account I'm still stuck in Oma-hell for 1 more month 20days 22hrs 43mins and 49secs. The front of the house. About 2' of snow fell Thursday but you can't tell it in this picture. The ground has been filled in and sloped away from the house in preparation to start the front porch next week.

Bedroom side of the house and the garage is starting to take shape.

The garage with 2 of the walls.

The back of the house where the back porch will be; ground has been filled in and sloped away in preparation for the back porch also the sun was in a bad place for this picture; probably should have used a filler flash.

Here are 6 more picture but they're not much different than the last post except they are dry again. Most of the work is being done in the basement, building the steps, a temporary paint room and a place to sand the big beams in the last picture of the last post. No one in the nearby area has a planer big enough to handle those beams so they have to be sanded. We did get the new doors this time tho and they are the right ones. They were also getting ready to put in the post for the front porch so the next pictures hopefully will show more change.

In this group of pictures you can see the results of a little bit of rain and some wind. You can really tell it when you see the inside. I was told that it won't hurt anything at this stage. They are getting ready to start on row 15 of the logs with 1 more to go after that then they start on the roof. I'll try to find a spot with a good view of the front and take a picture from there each time but since the ground slopes down the angle will be wrong, so maybe I can climb a tree to get a better view(but don't count on that). We pick both front & back doors when we go back down this coming Thursday he 1st. and I'll take some more pictures then.

Those 2 trees on the right rear corner and next to the garage and driveway are supposed to be Mulberry trees. In the summer that will be where our special friends will park especially if they have a white car.

I'll get a picture of this view each time I'm there, it seems to be where there is the least obstructions for the best view of the back.

The builder said that he would have some steps ready for Carol the next time she came, so here they are.

Here are a few pictures of the interior after a small rain. I bet a roof would have helped.

These are the ceiling and 2nd floor beams.

Six pictures in this group. It rained for 2 days the first of the week but they still got quite a bit done. This is the front of the house and you can see at the front door a dirt ramp used to help get the log in easier. In the next picture you can see where they are starting on the 12 layer of logs. I'll be home for vacation during Thanksgiving and for a week after so I'll get to take the pictures the next 2 times. The front and back doors that we ordered should be ready to pick up and take down there while I'm home. The back door was in a week ago but they had screwed up the order and sent us the wrong one so had to order it again. After we got back home that day we had a msg on the phone that the front door was in, while we were there that noon they said it wasn't there yet. Looks like the normal screw ups are starting. So the front door is there now and we're waiting on the re-ordered back door to come in, I hope its right this time.

Windows for the 2 downstairs bedrooms. Metal protectors for the basement windows for when they fill in the dirt to the black level. Also a little piece of the garage showing.

Living room window and dining room windows.
