Still not much visible change, actually about the only change in this view will be the porch rails, the log siding on the dormer, the front door and frames around the windows. The guys here are staining the wood that will be the ceiling for the 2 porches. 6 pics this time.

Roof still not done. It will be tho in next weeks picture, I gar-ron-tee even if I have to doctor the picture.

Chuck cleaning the boards that will become the ceiling for the front and back porch.

This is our redneck backyard taken a few steps from the porch, I've got a bug zapper on order.

Eleven pictures in this post. The roof is almost done and there is a temporary front and back door put in. I just might put a lock and knob on them paint them red and leave them there. That will be considerably cheaper than getting real doors.

The door to the balcony off the master bedroom has been installed. Later we'll put spiral stairs down from the balcony. The next several pictures are just different views of the same.

Still working on the roof. Seems like the last several times I have gotten this view there have been several people standing on the back porch roof. At least I know it's a strong roof.

The front bedroom and the guest bathroom. The 4 black poles will be the approxmate size of the guest bathroom, this angle makes it look a little small tho.

The back bedroom and bathroom.

The new backdoor from the utility room to the garage, I like it. The utility room will be almost as wide as the 2 braces on the wall.

Nine pictures this time and the only obvious change is the windows. Most of them are in now. I thought that the roof would be done by now but there was a problem with the roofer, he didn't put any of the tarpaper on first so the shingles that he had put on had to be removed so that the job could be done correctly so that put that part behind but the builder in his usual effecient manner will have that taken care of shortly.

A view from a bit higher up on the hill. If it was summer now we wouldn't be able to see the house from here even tho it is still close.

Carol with her compass out trying to find her way back to the log house. Turn around it's behind you.

Scrap wood for the wood stove.

Preparing to install one of the windows.

The window is now in.

The porch doing workbench duty.

A window from the inside.

There are 18 pictures with this post and you will see quite a bit of change from the last batch. I posted these pictures Saturday morning the 4th but I think the website that hosts these blog sites was having a problem, every time I posted a picture the previous picture would disappear and when I would try to edited a picture it wouldn't be there. I hope these will show up, it did put a couple of pictures out of sequence this time even. The pictures were taken on Wednesday the 1st of Feb and the next batch will be taken on Wednesday or Thursday the 8th or 9th. Anybody that tried to look at these on Saturday please leave a comment and let me know what it showed, I think maybe only one picture.

A good view of the dirt pile which will eventually be part of the yard.

A little better view of the porch ceiling.

Carol and Chuck the contractor/builder discussing some very important matters.

A good angle view of the back porch & side of the house and some of the garage.

Lifting the material to the roof. The roof should be totally finished by Friday the 3rd.

The master bedroom from the livingroom.

The master bedroom with the front dormer on the right and the doorway to where the balcony will be.

The dormer in the master bedroom.

A view of the loft from the livingroom.

View of the loft from the master bedroom an a little bit of the wall where the video & sound room will be. I'll be able to listen to all my 50's, 60's & 70's LP's & 45's in there and not bother anyone and maybe even watch a movie or 2.

View of the living room from the master bedroom upstairs. When finished there will be a wall there but it will be open from the loft which is on the right of the picture.

Some of the siding for the garage that will make it look as if it is really logs. To make the garage with logs would have cost us $3,000 more so we decided to use the siding for the garage. When it's done tho it will look just like the logs.

Here is our first mailbox even tho this one is only temporary. It is across the road from where our house is acct. we don't want to inconvenience the U.S. Postal Service even tho they just got a rate increase. It seems like the more money they get the less service we get.
