Here are some more pictures taken yesterday. Another batch will be in 7 to 12 days.
The blue pipe behind the rock is where the septic tank is, don't know yet if the well has been drilled.

An unidentified pipe close to where the well was to be drilled, but seems awful close to the electric pole.

The "new" storage shed for the caulking. It's an old ambulance bed that is insulated to protect the caulk from freezing.

The beginnings of the subfloor, to the left you can see where steps to basement will be.

Another shot of the subfloor and future "basement steps"

A shot up behind the house, some materials seem to be gone that were there last week; maybe moved to warehouse?

Septic tank installation looking from the front of the house out to the road. You can see where the fieldtile has been run by the messed up drive.

From drive up toward the house; septic tank & unidentified pipe can be seen.

A view of the exit gate all locked up and secure to keep out the burglers and terrorists if they can find it.

We have logs! There were 4 truckloads of the logs and other materials to get started with. There will be more later. Looks like it will be a week and a half to 2 weeks before the next pictures but I hope not.

A close up view of the oak logs.

The basement and a view of the oak logs in the background.

The center beam from the left side.

Looking at the front of the furture log house.

On the left the long boards in the front will be part of the roof and the shorter green ones will be the porches.

Laminated center floor beam and Chuck trying to get in the picture.

Haven't even moved in yet and already the garage is getting cluttered.

Chuck & I are putting up the gates, this is the exit gate. We're in the big time now, living in a gated community.

Now for the bottom hinge.

Here are 3 fall colors pictures that I took as we were leaving.

A floor level view of the new homestead. There are 8 pictures in this group and I should have some more to post next Saturday. The logs will be delivered by then and maybe they will have some of them stacked when I get down there, we hope.

A close view of the basement floor.

An even closer view.

A close up side view.

A good view of the front of the garage.

A little bit better view of the garage from the back. The right rear side of the house where it meets the garage will be a screened in back porch.

Looks a little different from last week, the garage is to the right.

We have 'lectric & light. I hope it has an on/off switch.

For those who are wondering what all that work will look like when done well here is a drawing of what it will look like. The logs will be 8x8 inch square oak logs and the roof will be kind of a rust color shingle and the window trim will be a brick red. The logs are rounded on the outside and flat with small beveled edges on the inside. The drawing I have for the back is way too big to scan and post.

Finally some more pictures. This is where the driveway into the garage will be, standing in front of the garage looking toward the circular drive in front of the house. Carol is planning on going back on the 15th for more and I'll back on the 19th or 20th.

This is the beginning of a garage, won't be big enough for a couple of Hummers tho.

The garage and some of the back yard, a deer or turkey just might come out of there at any time. There really are some here I have a picture of a couple of doe just down from where the house will be.

This is where the garage will be.

They promised us that it will eventually look a lot better. Just to the right will be the attached garage, it's at the back of the house instead of the side.

This is the side where the bedrooms, bathroom and garage will be, I'm standing in front of the entrance to the garage.

Getting the forms ready so they can pour the basement walls. One guy all by himself but 3 more guys showed up about 20mins later. I think they were all supervisors tho like where I work 3 chiefs and only 1 indian.

Looking good so far, right?

Looking from the circular drive to the front of the house. Use your imagination, picture a nice new log home with a full length porch looking at you.

Some rocks from the basement. A couple weeks ago where I'm standing now you could hardly see the road on the right.

Couple more rocks from the basement. Landscaping rocks, I'll need some help to move them tho. Any volunteers?

Driveway south end. 11 pictures with this bunch. I should have somemore this time next week. I don't know if I can afford much more of this with driving or flying back to St. Louis every other week or so until the end of January.

I see a dump truck but nobody around. Taking a break I guess or chasing a deer.

Somebody is actually there working, Carol even saw him.

Taken from the road at basically the same spot as one of the earlier pics but without all of the weeds, poison ivy, begger burrs, thorn tree, small trees and bushes.

The north driveway looking toward the house. This end of the driveway has been here for 2 or 3 years but didn't look like this.

My first firewood pile.

Taken from the driveway looking at the front of the house. Use your imagination, there will be a log home at that spot. I can see it!

The future basement. 09/30/05
